Ward - Moyer
Alyson Dale Moyer and Daniel Weston Ward were married Saturday, November 4, 2006, at half past five in the evening, with a candlelight ceremony held at Ridge Road Baptist Church in Raleigh. A dinner and dance reception followed at North Carolina State University Club hosted by the bride's parents. Reverend Dr. Robert Crewdson, childhood minister of the groom, officiated the ceremony, with music provided by organist Patti Lingafelt and trumpeter Tim Stewart. Shelley Pearson and Irene Goslow of Expression of Love arranged the flowers and directed the wedding. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory R. Rogers of Raleigh, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Scarbrough of Clearwater, Florida. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Ward of Sparta. He is the grandson of Mrs. Della Pulliam of Winston Salem, and the late Mr. Charles S. Pulliam, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Ward of Brooklyn, New York. The bride was given in marriage by her mother and escorted by her stepfather. Terry S. Rogers, mother of the bride, served as matron of honor. Ashley Danielle Moyer and Ansley Dawn Moyer of Raleigh, sisters of the bride, were maids of honor. The bridesmaids were Amber Leigh Rogers of Raleigh, sister of the bride; Erin Alicia Mackie of Granite Falls and Lindsay Kathryn Morgan of Greensboro, college friends of the bride; Terri Suzanne Womble of Winston Salem, high school friend of the bride; and Courtney Ryan Sauls of Raleigh, childhood friend of the bride. Celeste Victoria Whaley of Raleigh, friend of the bride's family was the flower girl. Joseph T. Ward served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Matthew Joseph Ward, brother of the groom, and John Clifford Washington, childhood friend of the groom, of Atlanta, Georgia; James Raymond Bryan of Norfolk, Virginia, childhood friend of the groom; Zebulin Blake Campbell of Monroe and Matthew David Hughes of Burlington, college friends of the groom; Samuel Devon Scott, IV and Jonathan Lee Owen of Raleigh, friends of the groom. Ushers included Edward Joseph Wells of Cullowhee, college friend of the bride and groom, and Jeremy Daniel Lane of New Port Richey, Florida, cousin of the bride. Danny and Gail Lane of New Port Richey, Florida, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Bob and Linda Muir of New Bern, aunt and uncle of the groom, gave Scripture readings. Brittany Gail Lane of New Port Richey, Florida, cousin of the bride, served as register attendant and Brooke Michelle Strickland of Hayesville, college friend of the bride, and Ashley Rebecca Zimtbaum of Cary, friend of the bride, were program attendants. Alaine Nicole Moss of Raleigh, friend of the bride, was the greeter and the hairstylist for the bride and her bridal party. A bridesmaid luncheon was held on Friday, November 3, 2006, at Caff Luna hosted by Mrs. Cheryl Whaley of Raleigh. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Michael Dean's. The bride is a graduate of Athens Drive High School in Raleigh and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and a minor in Marketing. She is the Manager of Premier Athletics at Riverwood in Clayton. The groom is a graduate of Alleghany High School in Sparta and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is an account coordinator with Professional Builders Supply in Morrisville. The couple departed the reception in a horse drawn carriage before honeymooning in Cancun, Mexico, and will reside in Raleigh.
