Caroline Bryan Carpenter of New Bern and Tyler Kenneth Hagan of New Bern were united in marriage June 3, 2006, at Christ Episcopal Church in New Bern with the Reverend Jeremy Matthew Warnick officiating. A reception followed at the home of the bride. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Harrell Carpenter of New Bern, and the granddaughter of Mrs. William Floyd Gaskins Jr. of New Bern and the late Mr. William Floyd Gaskins Jr. She graduated from North Carolina State University. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas James Hagan of New Bern, and the grandson of Mrs. Paul Matthew Hagan of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and the late Mr. Paul Matthew Hagan, and Mrs. Kenneth James MacCallum of New Bern and the late Mr. Kenneth James MacCallum. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a blush silk taffeta gown of her original design adorned with a fitted bodice and lace trim, full ball skirt, stylized bow and chapel length train. She wore her mother's antique Brussels lace veil. Serving the bride as maid of honor was Blair Lawrence Webb of Dunn. Bridesmaids were Ashley Hume Baxter of Raleigh; Caroline Currin Beam of Wilmington; Sally Bryan Carey of Raleigh; Keever Murphy Carpenter of New Bern, sister-in-law of the bride; Laura Wheeler Clark of Raleigh; Erin Brafford Kelly of Charlotte; Betsy Lynn Kilpatrick of Raleigh; and Jillian Tatom Shore of Raleigh. Serving as the groom's best man was Dr. Thomas James Hagan of New Bern, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Bradford Duffy Carpenter of New Bern, brother of the bride; Mr. Bryan Patrick Darch of Raleigh; Mr. Lewis Chandler Deans of Raleigh; Mr. Justin Manuel Good of Raleigh; Mr. Ryan Thomas Hagan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, brother of the groom; Mr. Troy Matthew Hagan of New Bern, brother of the groom; Mr. Samuel Foster Lathan of Beaufort; Mr. Jonathan Guido Swope of Chapel Hill; and Mr. Mark Breckenridge Gibbs of Raleigh. The readers were Mrs. William Donald Walter of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Dr. Thomas Frederick Webb of Greenville. Greeters included Miss Meredith MacCallum Drake, Miss Kathleen Michelle Hollister, Miss Lauren Amanda Hollister, and Miss Julia Elizabeth Seiden, cousins of the bride and groom. After a wedding trip to Bermuda, the couple will make their home in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where the groom will attend the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.
