Anna Elizabeth Arnett of Arlington, Virginia, and Ryan Alexander Applegate of Alexandria, Virginia, were married October 14, 2006, at six o'clock in the evening at Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh. The Reverend Doctor Winston Breeden Charles officiated the service. Doctor Steven Scott Garber of Falls Church, Virginia, served as homilist. A reception was held at the Carolina Country Club immediately following the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Wayne Arnett of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edwin Ware Robinson of New Bern and the late Mr. Robinson, and Mrs. Arthur Arnett, Jr. of Fayetteville and the late Mr. Arnett. The groom is the son of Doctor and Mrs. Robert Joseph Applegate of Winston-Salem and the late Jeanne Terese Applegate. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lillian Constance Riegle of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and the late Mr. Riegle, Mrs. Gene B. Applegate of Saratoga, California, and the late Mr. Applegate, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Horace Connor of Lexington. Mrs. Settle Plyler Monroe of Chapel Hill served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Kristin Marie Applegate of Raleigh and Miss Katelyn Anne Applegate of Winston-Salem, sisters of the groom; Mrs. Katherine Clifton Cannon and Mrs. Langley Bass Cumbie of Charlotte; Miss Catherine Thomson Davis of Winston-Salem; Miss Catharine Elizabeth Edwards of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Miss Whitney Eileen Moen of Denver, Colorado; Miss Ashley Ihrie O'Bryant of Raleigh; and Miss Parker McAlister Worth of Oxford, Mississippi. Dr. Robert Joseph Applegate served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Gregory Allen Amweg of Sedalia, Colorado; Mr. Andrew Robinson Arnett and Cameron Andrews Arnett of Raleigh, brothers of the bride; Mr. Clayton Bryant Cooke of Pasadena, California; Mr. Michael Todd Eller of Charlotte; Mr. Robert Kemp Gouldin of Arlington, Virginia; Mr. John Zachary Mansfield of Durham; Mr. Daniel Stevens Walker of Chapel Hill; and Mr. Robert Dean Whitehill of Redondo Beach, California. Mr. John Clyde Ellis of New York, New York, and Mr. Robert Henry Mills of Washington, District of Columbia, served ushers. Miss Emily Elizabeth Christian of Wilmington, Miss Elizabeth Ann Robinson of Raleigh, and Mrs. Alexia Jeanine Gerczak of Richmond, Virginia, cousins of the bride, served as program attendants. Miss Katherine Lee Henderson of New York, New York, Miss Sabrina Renee Jones of Raleigh, and Miss Sarah Swan Kesler of Raleigh served as greeters. Mr. Kevin Carey Flynn of Vancouver, British Columbia, Mrs. Amy Hall Hartman of Bethesda, Maryland, Mrs. Christin Rita Stevens of Raleigh, and Mr. Mackenzie Law Wheatley of Arlington, Virginia, served as Scripture readers. The bride graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. She is presently employed with The Kellogg Collection in Washington, District of Columbia. The groom graduated from Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is employed with Washington First Bank in Washington, District of Columbia. After a honeymoon trip to Saint John, Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Alexandria, Virginia.
