The wedding of Katherine Scott Magnuson to George Young Ragsdale II occurred June 10, 2006, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The wedding was solemnized at Trinity Episcopal Church in the Garden District with the Reverend Michael Kuhn officiating. A reception followed in the French Quarter.The bride is the daughter of Margaret Coate Murphy, and the daughter and stepdaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gould Magnuson, Jr. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Frances Murphy, and the late Mrs. Gertrude Maegher Magnuson.The groom is the son of the former Adora Lea Prevost of Waynesville and of George Robinson Ragsdale of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Aaron Prevost, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Young Ragsdale.The bride graduated from Louise S. McGehee High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Tulane University. She spent her junior year abroad in Paris, France. She was presented by The Pickwick Club and The Bachelor's Club, and was in the courts of Atlanteans, Rex, Momus and Proteus. She is a senior vice president at Rubenstein Associates Public Relations in New York City, New York.The groom graduated from Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a managing director at Terrapin Asset Management, LLC in New York City, New York.After the honeymoon in Bali, the couple will reside in New York City, New York.
