Elizabeth King Willis and Brian Matthew Kittler of Raleigh were married August 28, 2004, at five-thirty in the afternoon at Jones Chapel, Meredith College. The Reverend Eric Porterfield officiated at the double-ring ceremony. After the ceremony, a reception was held at The Cardinal Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. King Moore Willis of Sanford. She is also the daughter of the late Mr. King Moore Willis. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Stephen John Kittler of Jacksonville.
Mr. Robert Henderson Ladd III of Wilson, cousin of the bride, served as the bride's escort.
Ms. Dee-El Caines Cloninger of Sanford, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor.
Mr. Stephen Lawrence Kittler of Apex, brother of the groom, served as best man. The ushers were Mr. Michael Joseph Bailey of Waltham, Massachusetts, Mr. Sean Michael Darling of Stamford, Connecticut, Mr. Allan Mills Frazelle Jr. of Jacksonville, Mr. Jared Owen Hedrick of Misenheimer, Mr. Mark Edward Kuehl of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Mr. John Ross McDougall of Cary.
Organist Mrs. Susan Gaster, trumpeter Mr. Don Eagle, and soloist Mr. Robert Cox provided music for the ceremony.
Mrs. Claudia Hamill Jenkins of Wilson was the wedding director. Mrs. Barbara Miller Bolt of Wilson served at the guest register. Ms. Sarah Lynnette Ladd and Ms. Rebecca Jane Ladd of Wilson served as program attendants. At the reception Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Womble served as greeters.
The bride graduated from Meredith College. She was presented at the 1989 Sanford Cotillion Club Debutante Ball. She is employed with Wake County Schools as a teacher at Hunter Elementary.
The groom graduated from Central Connecticut State University. He is head golf professional at Raleigh Country Club.
After a honeymoon trip to Aruba, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
