Griffin anniversary
Billy and Peggy Griffin of New Hill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2004.
A celebration was held on the grounds of the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh where the two first met while growing up at the Methodist Orphanage.
More than one hundred family members, friends and their orphanage brothers and sisters attended the special event.
They have five grandchildren.
The party was organized by their children, Brenda Griffin Holladay of Raleigh and Bruce Griffin of Asheville.
They were married August 28, 1954, at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
