Meghan Suzanne Longiotti of Chapel Hill and Paul Atlas Rigsbee of Durham were married at five o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, August 7, 2004, at Yates Baptist Church in Durham.
Dr. Don Gordon officiated.
After the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception hosted by the bride's parents was held at The Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Longiotti of Chapel Hill.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest B. Medlin of Chapel Hill, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bryant of Selma.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Shelton Rigsbee of Durham.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Atlas Rigsbee of Durham, and Mrs. Betty Holsclaw of Durham and the late Mr. Calvin Holsclaw.
The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her parents.
She wore a white silk and silver Cassini embroidered gown and carried a bouquet of pink baby roses.
Miss Vittoria Longiotti of Chapel Hill, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Mrs. Nicole Longiotti-Farmer of Durham, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Amanda Oliver of Raleigh, Ashleigh King of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Ashley Bryant of Laurinburg, and Christy Van Auken of Durham, all college friends of the bride; and Laura Medlin of Durham, aunt of the bride.
Miss Grace Farmer and Miss Emma Rose Farmer, nieces of the bride, served as flower girls.
The groom chose his father, Paul Shelton Rigsbee, to serve as best man.
The groomsmen were Russell Rigsbee of Durham, brother of the groom; and Allen Carter of Lexington, Alan Whit of Mebane, Drew Seitz of Jamestown, Tony Crabtree of Durham, and Jay Delbridge of Charlotte, friends of the groom.
Mrs. Dana Johnson of Four Oaks served as program attendant and greeted guests.
Miss Kristy Edwards of Smithfield was wedding director.
Mr. Matt Lovette of Graham sang.
Mrs. Martha Reed served as pianist and Mr. Ted Reed was the sound technician.
The bride holds a degree in Psychology from Meredith College and is presently pursuing a career in dental hygiene.
The groom has a Construction Technology and Business degree from Appalachian State University and is employed with C.T. Wilson Construction Company of Durham.
After a honeymoon trip to Wyoming and Montana, the newlyweds will reside in Durham.
