Erin Katherine Kesterson of Raleigh and Benjamin Jason Bowers of Linwood were married May 29, 2004, at twelve o'clock at Old Cumnock Old Church in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The Reverend John W. Patterson officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Carter Kesterson of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolf L. Frese of Lewes, Delaware, and Mrs. Lucille B. Kesterson of Raleigh and the late Reverend Paul C. Kesterson.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bowers of Linwood and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lee Cox of Linwood, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred O. Bowers of Siler City.
A 1990 graduate of Broughton High School and a 1994 graduate of Duke University, the bride worked for four years at Building Together Ministries in Raleigh. She earned the Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2002 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary.
A 1998 graduate of Central Davidson High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, the groom worked as a disaster recovery project manager for Benchmark Inc. for five years. He is currently a student at Princeton Theological Seminary, pursuing the Master of Divinity degree. He has spent the last year in work/study abroad as an associate at Old Cumnock Old Church and Lugar Church in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The wedding trip was to London and Rome. The couple will reside in Princeton, New Jersey.
