Dr. John Brothers officiated.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at the North Carolina Museum of History.
The bride is the daughter of Ruth Schultz Carter and Robert Paul Buchanan of Fayetteville.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Chandler Horton of Roxboro.
Following a honeymoon trip to Little Palm Island Resort in the Florida Keys, the couple will live in Raleigh.
