Camille Marie Johnson and John Charles Penniman were married Saturday, November 15, 2003, at six o'clock in the evening at Duke University Chapel.
The Reverend Doctor Dennis Herman officiated the ceremony. The reception was held at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill.
The bride, formerly of Raleigh, is the daughter of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Johnson of Raleigh and the late Mr. Lawrence Allen Johnson Jr.
The groom, formerly of Georgetown, Texas, is the son of Mrs. Linda Jane Waters of Fort Collins, Colorado, and the late Mr. David Allen Penniman.
The bride was escorted by her mother and her brother, Lawrence Allen Johnson III.
Elizabeth Cheatham and Nicole Willard served as maids of honor.
The bridesmaids were Cheryl Coon, Laura Taaffe, and Christine Johnson.
The groomsmen were Adam Cole, Justin Hovatter, Brent O'Brien, Koy Killen, and Lawrence Johnson III. Nephew of the bride, Maxwell Johnson, served as ring bearer.
Donna Judd and Debra Harvey gave Scripture readings at the ceremony.
Tammie Wood was the vocalist.
The bride graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her law degree from Vanderbilt University. She is an attorney with Gardere Wynne Sewell in Dallas, Texas.
The groom graduated cum laude from Texas A&M; University and received his Master's degree in Health Sciences form Duke University. He is a pathologists' assistant with Pathologists Bio-Medical Laboratories at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
After a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple lives in Dallas.
