Stout anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Russell Stout of Lillington celebrated their 50th anniversary June 26, 2004, at a dinner, given by their children, at Heath's Steakhouse in Dunn.
Their children are Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Russell Stout Jr. of Fuquay-Varina, and Dr. and Mrs. William Hubert Radford of Pine Level. They have three grandchildren.
They were married July 3, 1954, at Eureka Presbyterian Church in Carthage.

[Obituary of Malcolm Stout: "Malcolm Russell Stout, 91, of Lillington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016. He was born in Lee County, the son of the late James Ray Stout and Mary Alice Ellis Stout. Malcolm was a graduate of Sanford High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He went ashore at Normandy and served with the 1st Army 19th Corps on their march across Europe into Germany, earning four campaign stars. After the war, he graduated from Mars Hill College and attended UNC–Chapel Hill. Malcolm was a police officer in Southern Pines for several years, rising to the rank of police sergeant. He later joined the NC State Division of Probation and Parole and retired after 30 years of service. Malcolm was proud to receive the Order of the Longleaf Pine from Gov. James Martin. He was an Elder Emeritus and Sunday school teacher at Lillington Presbyterian Church. Malcolm was also a Mason and served on the Harnett County Planning Board. Malcolm loved his family, his church and his country. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Alice Jean McCaskill Stout; three brothers, James, Fred and Paul Stout; and a sister, Helen Stout Enzie. Malcolm is survived by his daughter, Alice Stout Radford and husband, Bill of Pine Level; son, Malcolm Stout, Jr. and wife, Rose of Fuquay-Varina; 3 grandchildren, Bill Radford, Jr. and wife, Becky, Hannah Stout and Emma Stout; 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emma and Carly. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Lillington Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dawn Stoker, the Rev. Dr. Bill Goodnight and Mr. Tom Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 10-11 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Eureka Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Carthage.
