Rachel Anne Sutton of Raleigh and John William Soltiz IV of Oneonta, New York, were married June 26, 2004, at five o'clock in the afternoon at Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Reverend Jonathan Jeffries officiated at the double ring ceremony. The reception was held at the Clarion Hotel State Capital.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Donna Sutton of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Sam and Rose Jones of Kinston, Sadie Stanton of Cary, and Jack Sutton of LaGrange.
Parents of the groom are Gail Rupp of New Caney, Texas, and John Soltiz III of Oneonta, New York. He is the grandson of Howard and Blanche Hinkley of Oneonta, New York.
Cindy Howes of San Jose, California, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Heather Weeks, Megan Dudash, and Sarah Buchanan of Raleigh; Katherine Freeman of South Carolina; and Teresa Johnson of Massachusetts. The junior bridesmaids were Sarah Cox of Holly Springs and Marianne Williams of Raleigh. Mallory Sprinkle of Cary served as flower girl.
John Soltiz III served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Michael Sutton and Jamie Rose of Raleigh, and Luke Raudibaugh and Ciarin Bradey of New York. The ushers were Bill Brown of Cary and Henry Rupp of New Caney, Texas. Noah Sprinkle of Cary served as the ring bearer.
Jennifer Brown was the program attendant and Linda Brown was the guest book attendant.
Soloist Kristin Washam provided music.
After a honeymoon trip to Ocean Isle and to Charleston, South Carolina, the couple will live in Raleigh.
