Erin Blair Berry of Raleigh and Michael Frank Anderson of Lake Forest, Illinois, were married Saturday, June 26, 2004, at six o'clock in the evening at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Raleigh. Pastor Diane Amidon and Reverend William H. Terry officiated. A dinner and dance reception was held at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Joni Berry, and Dr. and Mrs. William R. Berry of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Patsy Ingram of Charlotte and the late Mr. James C. Ingram, and Mrs. Anne W. Kelley of Raleigh and the late Mr. Frederick S. Kelley, and the late Dr. James W. Berry.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Gene Landoe of Lake Forest, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson of Mission Viejo, California. He is the grandson of Mrs. Gretchen Raymond of Blowing Rock and the late Mr. Howard Raymond, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Angela Anderson of Laguna Woods, California.
The bride wore a lovely white royal satin mock two-piece gown. The a-line full skirt had a pleated back, which flowed into a train with scattered embroidery on the bottom of the skirt. The round neckline was embellished with beaded spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice had floral thread embroidery and sequins, pearls and rhinestones. She carried a cascade bouquet with hydrangea, roses, delphiniums, freesia, stephanotis, and Queen Anne's lace.
Rachel Anne Berry, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Lisa Landoe and Kelly Anderson, sisters of the groom; Emily Pratt, sister of the bride; Beth Daniel, Erin Raffety, and Christina Cupani, friends of the bride; and Laura Phibbs, childhood friend of the bride. They wore a European sky blue satin gown with a dropped waist. The bateau neckline was accentuated with princess seams. The dresses were embellished with a half inch banding at the waist that flowed into a back bow and tail. The honorary attendants were Jennifer Kleckley and Sarah Brewer, cousins of the bride. Danielle Anderson, cousin of the groom, and Claire Anderson, friend of the groom, served as flower girls.
Brian Landoe, brother of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were James Berry and Michael Pratt, brothers of the bride; David Anderson, brother of the groom; Langdon Raymond, uncle of the groom; and Burgin Hardin, Kwame Appiah, and Greg Filak, friends of the groom. William Anderson, uncle of the groom, and Nate Epling, friend of the groom, served as ushers.
Joy Edwards and Angie Wright of With This Ring directed the wedding. The guest book attendant was Mrs. Betty Wood, aunt of the bride.
Soloist Miss Kathleen Spitzer, friend of the groom, and organist Mrs. Janice Peery and flutist Miss Jessica Peery, friends of the bride, provided music.
A shower, hosted by the bride's college roommates, was held on May 3, 2004. A celebration luncheon, hosted by Mrs. Patsy Ingram and Mrs. Betty Wood, was held on May 13, 2004. A bridal tea, given by Mrs. Julia Berry, was held on May 23, 2004, and a bridal shower, given by Alberta and Laura Phibbs, was held on June 13, 2004. A bridal luncheon, given by Miss Rachel Berry, was held at Lucky 32 in Raleigh on June 25, 2004. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson, was held at Maggiano's in Durham on June 25, 2004.
The bride graduated from St. Timothy's-Hale School in Raleigh, and Davidson College in Davidson with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She is employed with St. Mary's School in Raleigh.
The groom graduated from Davidson College in Davidson with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is currently enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
After a honeymoon trip to Antigua, the couple will live in Chapel Hill.
