Jaime Ashley Tompkins and Todd Raymond Heaward of Orlando, Florida, were married August 16, 2003, at six o'clock in the evening at the Longview-Poe House in Raleigh. Dr. Steve Breedlove officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James A. Tompkins Sr. of Raleigh. Parents of the groom are Ms. Susan J. Heaward of Palm Bay, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul M. Heaward of Oxford, Maine. Mrs. Tiffany J. Burns of Clayton, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Ms. Colleen K. Crotty of York, Pennsylvania, Mrs. DeLisa V. Dalton of Wilmington, Ms. Janet E. Legen of Cary, and Ms. Kristy E. Leath of Raleigh, friends of the bride. Mr. James G. Curlee of West Melbourne, Florida, friend of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Brandon P. Heaward of Oxford, Maine, brother of the groom; Mr. James A. Tompkins Jr. of Raleigh, brother of the bride; Mr. James E. Burns of Clayton, brother-in-law of the bride; and Mr. Thomas D. Royle of Orlando, Florida, friend of the groom. Master Dylan A. Rogers of Raleigh was the ring bearer. Mrs. Vickie Byrd of Raleigh directed the wedding. Ms. Laura A. Blocksom of Woodstock, Illinois, was the scripture reader. The guest book was attended by Ms. Kristin E. Brown of Raleigh. Greeters were Mrs. Jackie H. McMichael and Ms. Blythe J. Boaz of Raleigh. The bride graduated from Elon University and is currently completing a Master's degree in Adult Education at North Carolina State University. The groom graduated from Keiser College in Melbourne, Florida. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will live in Orlando, Florida, where they are employed by Tompkins Associates.
