Julie Ann McCarthy and Kenneth Brian Sullivan of Raleigh were married November 30, 2002, at three o'clock in the afternoon at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Father Daniel T. Kenna officiated the ceremony. A reception was held at North Ridge Country Club. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Francis McCarthy of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joseph Reynold Spafford of Mobile, Alabama, and the late Mr. Spafford, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Joseph McCarthy of Decatur, Georgia. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Charles Sullivan, junior of Greensboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Steinhausen of Greensboro, Mr. Raymond Charles Sullivan, senior of Islamorada, Florida, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hegel of Rochester, Minnesota. Kelly Ann McCarthy of Charlotte, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Carol Perkins Edwards, Miriam Owen Migdal, Ashley Lynne Miles, and Mary Hunter Royal, all of Raleigh; Kelly Keiner Gamble of Greensboro; Anna Weathers Harrill of New York, New York; and Heather Poole York of Chapel Hill. Cousin of the bride, Amanda Michele Spafford of Mobile, Alabama, served as flower girl. Dr. Raymond Charles Sullivan, junior served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Jakob Lorenz Bollini, junior, Dana Kevin Brown, and Michael Raymond Sullivan, brother of the groom, all of Greensboro; Harvey Tyler Owen of Winston-Salem; Richard Anthony Cortlandt Stokes of Roswell, Georgia; and John Allen White, senior of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Communications Specialist at Bayer Corporation. The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He is General Manager of Ryscor Science, Inc. After a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
