Ryan Carrin Messer and Andrew Charles Wilson of Chapel Hill were married Saturday, October 5, 2002, at four o'clock in the afternoon in the Pergola in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Uncle of the groom, Reverend Christopher Roseland, officiated the double-ring ceremony. A reception was held at Doris Duke Center in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Patricia O'Reilly of Durham, and the late Roger Dale Messer. Parents of the groom are Kenneth and Karyn Wilson of Chapel Hill. The bride wore an Ivory Duchese satin gown by Vera Wang of New York City. The bride was escorted by her mother and presented by her stepfather. Erin Redfern of Hurdle Mills served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Resnick of Chapel Hill, Michelle Wright of Los Angeles, and sister of the groom, Adrianne Wilson of Cary. Kenneth Wilson served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Jared Resnick and Chad Blackwelder of Chapel Hill, and brother of the bride, Evan H. O'Reilly of Durham. Leonid Zilper of the North Carolina Symphony and Hsiao-Mei Ku of the Chompi Quartet provided music at the ceremony. Carnivalito provided music for the reception. The bride attended the University of Georgia. She is a website designer with American Kennel Club. The groom graduated from Johnson and Wales University. He is executive chef at Squids in Chapel Hill. After a honeymoon trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will live in Chapel Hill.
