Satisky - Sauer

Elana Sauer of Atlanta and Mark Todd Satisky of Raleigh were married August 11, 2002, at five-thirty in the evening at Westin Atlanta North in Atlanta. Rabbi Donald Tam officiated. A dinner and dance reception was held after the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Varda and Ken Sauer of Atlanta. She is the granddaughter of Barzillai Cheskis of Chicago and the late Arona Cheskis, and Al Sauer of Chicago and the late Ruth Sauer. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Phillip Satisky of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Al Rothstein of Raleigh, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Satisky of Fayetteville. Sister of the bride, Aviva Sauer, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Eden Cohen, Shana Moore, Elena Sachs, Graham Satisky, and Jessica Smolen. Shelly Satisky was the honorary bridesmaid. Brothers of the groom, Keith and Brian Satisky, served as best men. Groomsmen were Bret Gordon, Keith Halverstam, Alan Pinstein, Thomas Roodhouse, and Adam Sauer. Ushers were Andrew Halverstam and Mark Sylvester. Nephew of the groom, Jacob Satisky, served as the ring bearer. The bride graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. The groom graduated from Millbrook High School and Washington University in St. Louis in 1996. He is currently a second year student at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and will be working in the investment banking group at Deutsche Bank in New York next year. After a honeymoon trip to Italy, the couple is living in Durham.
