Courtney Caroline Milton and David Bryson Sims III were united in marriage at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, October 26, 2002, at White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. The Reverend Doctor Gary W. Fulton and the Reverend Keith Jon Thompson officiated. A reception was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Levering Crane junior of Raleigh, and Mr. and Mrs. George Cary Milton of Virginia Beach. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Wesley Hayes Proctor of Durham and the late Wesley Hayes Proctor, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Benjamin Milton junior of Greenville, South Carolina. The groom is the son of Mr. David Bryson Sims junior of Wilmington and the late Carole Mauney Sims. He is the grandson of Mrs. Benjamin Hovis Mauney and the late Benjamin Hovis Mauney, and Mrs. David Bryson Sims and the late David Bryson Sims of Memphis. The bride was given in marriage by her fathers Mr. George Cary Milton and Mr. George Levering Crane junior. Sister of the bride, Morgan McCary Milton of Angier, served as the maid of honor, and sister of the groom, Jennifer Sims Roberson of Raleigh, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Hillary Snow Baker, sisters of the bride, Kimberly Rae Crane and Maria Adair-Hayes Crane, of Raleigh; Julia-Gray Hooks of Chapel Hill; Courtney Leigh McDaniel of Wilmington; and Courtney Leigh Shaw of Raleigh. The flower girls were Rachel Suzanne Bass and Hunley Elizabeth Michaux of Raleigh. David Bryson Sims junior served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were brother of the bride, Michael Christian Crane, and William McDaniel Greene of Raleigh; Frederick Bolles Graham III of New York City; Joseph Hooper Graham of Raleigh; Bryan Alan Kincade of Atlanta; Deryl Raynor Smith junior of Raleigh; and William Carter Sneeden and Joseph Stevenson Wells of Wilmington. The ring bearers were Mathew Edmond Bass and Macon Warfield Michaux III of Raleigh. The scripture reading was by George Wrenn Ragsdale of Washington, D.C. The program attendants were Andrew William Bass and Christopher Brian Bass of Raleigh. The greeters were Stacy Grace Chingren and Steven Shane Fincher of Raleigh. The father of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Cardinal Club on Friday night. The bride received her Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina State University. She was presented at the 1996 Terpsichorean Ball in Raleigh. She is currently employed as a Recruiter of Data Sciences at ClinForce in Research Triangle Park. The groom received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and is currently employed as a Mechanical Engineer at O'Brien-Atkins in Research Triangle Park. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
