Susan Elizabeth Mitchell and Paul Edward Furr of Raleigh were married October 12, 2002, at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Doctor William J. Weisser officiated the ceremony. A reception followed the wedding at the Cardinal Club. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Jo Bryan Mitchell of Winston-Salem and Mr. Frederic William Mitchell of Clemmons. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Bryan of Graham, and Mrs. Richard M. Mitchell of Graham and the late Mr. Richard M. Mitchell. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Gary Edward Furr of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Rita Lynch, formerly of Windber, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Edward Furr of Falls Church, Virginia, and the late Mr. Edward Furr. Sister of the bride, Lee Evelyn Mitchell of Garner, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Regina Ann Gibson of Louisville, Kentucky; Laura Tynan Hansen of Houston, Texas; Clarky Elizabeth Lucas of Columbia, Maryland; Anita Jones Normanly of Raleigh; and Amy Nash Palmer of Cary. Niece of the groom, Brittany Taylor Wright of Raleigh, was the flower girl. Denis Martin O'Connor of Raleigh served as best man. Other groomsmen were Gary Steven Furr of Wake Forest; Anthony James Letourneau of Apex; Louis Avenerio Masini of Clayton; Sean Michael McKenzie of Wake Forest; and Mark Christopher Mottern of Manhattan Beach, California. Sister of the groom, Laura Ann Wright of Raleigh, read scripture during the ceremony. The bride graduated from the University of Louisville and is employed by FOX 50 TV in Durham. The groom graduated from Central Carolina Community College and is employed by WTVD-TV in Durham. After a honeymoon trip to Maui, the couple will live in Raleigh.
