Randsdell - Thompson

Kirsten Layne Thompson of Raleigh and Paul Andrew Ransdell of Cary were married July 27, 2002, at five o'clock in the afternoon at Edenton Street United Methodist. Dr. William Weisser officiated. A reception was held at Capital City Club. The bride is the daughter of Stephen and Penny Thompson of Copley, Ohio. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Ann P. Ransdell of Fuquay-Varina and the late Phillip C. Ransdell. Sister of the bride, Tressa Hartsell of Wilmington, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride, April Page and Leslie Wainright of Raleigh; sister of the groom, Page Gunter of Kernersville; and friends of the bride, Kristen Welker of Denver, Colorado, Victoria VonGunten of Stow, Ohio, and Stacey Webb of Cleveland, Ohio. Brother of the groom, Cliff Ransdell of Fuquay-Varina, served as best man. Groomsmen were friends of the groom, Greg Denning of Apex, Chris Roach of Austin, Texas, Mike Karanovich of Raleigh, and Chris Guin of Greensboro; brother of the bride, Trent Thompson of Columbus, Ohio; and brother-in-law of the groom, Jeffrey Gunter of Kernersville. The bride graduated in 1994 from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She is a fifth grade teacher with Timber Drive Elementary School. The groom graduated in 1994 from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. He is a post sales associate with BTI. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will live in Cary.
