Katschkowsky - Hannah

Alison Cole Hannah of Raleigh and John William Katschkowsky of Durham were married October 12, 2002, at twelve noon at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Dr. Arthur Ross and Reverend George Rolling of Johnson City, Tennessee, officiated. A brunch-style, afternoon party reception was held at Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern, where the Ira Wiggins Quartet provided music, after the ceremony. The couple arrived at the reception in a horse-drawn carriage. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Frank T. Hannah of Shelby. She is the granddaughter of the late Muriel Cole Carpenter and the late Gordon R. Carpenter of Middletown, New York, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer R. Hannah of Atlanta. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Elizabeth Katschkowsky of Elkader, Iowa and the late Herbert Katschkowsky. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rugland of Elkader, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. William Katschkowsky of Elkader, Iowa. Sisters of the bride, Mrs. Wendy Hannah Wright of Asheville, and Mrs. Leslie Hannah Bankirer of Dublin, Ohio, served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Virginia Roche Busby of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Jennifer Grove Manion of Damascus, Maryland. Steven Patrick Tracy of Durham served as the best man. Groomsmen were brother of the groom, Alan Lee Katschkowsky of St. Olaf, Iowa; brother of the bride, Geoffrey Thomas Hannah of Charlotte; and Todd Nelson Liebbe of Denver, Colorado. Trumpeter Dennis DeJong, organist Brock Downward, and soloist Denise Bryant Spiro provided music. The greeter was Ann Katschkowsky Cahill, who also served as scripture reader. The scripture was dedicated to the memory of the groom's father, Herbert Katschkowsky. Kelly Cory Tracy was the program attendant. Donna Harrelson of Raleigh and Jennifer Greer of Reno, Nevada assisted at the reception. A rehearsal dinner was held at Caff Luna in Raleigh. The bride received her bachelor's in 1991 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her master's in 1995 from East Carolina University. She is an exercise physiologist and personal trainer and is the Owner/Operator of CU Fitness Studios in Raleigh. She is also a member of adjunct faculty in Health, Physical Education, and Dance at Meredith College. The groom received his bachelor's degree in 1986 from Iowa State University. He is a project manager with William R. Nash. After a honeymoon trip to Key West and the Florida Keys, the couple will live in Durham.
