Margaret Eleanor Howard and George Read Stevens of Winston-Salem were married October 12, 2002, at eleven o'clock in the morning at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The Reverend Grayce O'Neill, the Reverend Donald Goodheart, and the Reverend Todd Spencer officiated at the ceremony and Holy Communion. A reception was held after the ceremony at the Twin City Club in Winston. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Howard of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harding Latham of Greensboro, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Newton Howard of Raleigh. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Stevens of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Chesler of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and the late Marshall C. Carlson. The groom's paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Harrell Hugh Stevens of Burlington. Friend of the bride, Mrs. Carolyn Herring Lutes of Winston-Salem, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Miss Emily Chapin of Dallas, Texas, and Miss Mary Young and Miss Cara Mathis of Winston-Salem. Brother of the groom, Mark Lindsay Stevens of Raleigh, served as best man. Groomsmen were brother of the groom, Samuel Graham Stevens of Rutland, Vermont; brother of the bride, Robert Earl Howard Jr. of Raleigh; and friends of the groom, Thomas Trucksess of Richmond, Virginia, and David Lutes of Winston-Salem. Readers at the ceremony were Mrs. Emily Rietz of Charlotte and Miss Andrea Brooks of Dallas, Texas. Organist John Mitchener and trumpeter Miss Anita Cirba provided music. The evening before the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Zevely House. They also hosted a party for out-of-town guests at the Cicero Tice House in Winston. The bride graduated from Wake Forest University. The groom graduated from the University of Richmond. The bride and groom are both Youth Ministers at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. They will live in Winston-Salem after a honeymoon trip to Toronto.
