Mr. and Mrs. Atkins celebrate 40 years

HOPATCONG — Thomas and Mary Lou Atkins of Hopatcong celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at a party with their family at the Lafayette House in Lafayette on Feb. 10.
Thomas Atkins and the former Mary Lou Ferdon were married on Feb. 10, 1967, in Butler.
Mr. Atkins is a retired small-business owner and works part-time for a large wholesale/retail company.
He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1964 to 1966.
He is the former fire marshal for the borough of Hopatcong and a life member of the Hopatcong Volunteer Fire Department; he was an active member from 1975 to 2001.
Mrs. Atkins is employed as a police officer for the U.S. government and is a former fire marshal for Mount Arlington.
She is a past president of the Hopatcong Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
The couple are members of St. Jude's R.C. Church in Hopatcong.
They have one daughter, Kimberly Ann Morlock and her husband, Dennis K., of Montague, and one son, Thomas H. Atkins Jr. and his fiancee, Nicole Roskin, of Lake Hopatcong.
They also have five granddaughters, Brianne, Eryn, Kiersten, and twins Morgan and Alyssa.
