Mr. and Mrs. Makusiewicz mark 50 years of marriage

PLAINS, Pa. — Ray and Lorraine Makusiewicz of Plains, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.
For more than 20 years, the couple and their sons Raymond, David and Kevin, were residents of Newton.
Mrs. Makusiewicz is the former Lorraine Havrilko, daughter of the late Paul and Viola Havrilko of Taylor, Pa.
Mr. Makusiewicz is the son of the late Leo and Frances Makusiewicz of Scranton, Pa.
They were married Sept. 29, 1956 at SS Peter and Paul Church, Scranton, by the Rev. Andrew Bocianski.
The wedding party included the maid of honor, Dolores Makusiewicz Insalaco of Moosic, Pa., with bridesmaids, Gloria Havrilko Sheridan of Moosic, and Lorraine Swiencki Roman of Mesa, Ariz.
Karen Romanowsky Gibson of Tallahassee, Fla., was the flower girl.
The late Medard Kowalski of Middletown, Pa., and Joseph Laybourne of Scranton were ushers.
The anniversary couple are parents of three sons and a grandson: Raymond, his wife, Cheri, and their son, Raymond Jr., of Wallingford Conn.; and the late David and Kevin.
They will renew their wedding vows in a ceremony today at the Church of St. Maria Goretti, Laflin, Pa., with a reception to follow.
The couple will also be celebrating their anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas next month.
