Short-Brown wed for Sunday, June 15, 2003
Jennifer Ann Short of Lowell and Shawn Andrew Brown of Bartlesville, Okla., were married at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at The Sterling House in Bentonville by Donny Story of Bartlesville, Okla.
The bride is the daughter of Deb and David Short of Bentonville.
The groom is the son of Rosemary Brown of Ocala, Fla.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, David Short. She wore an ivory satin A-line gown, featuring a split back accented with handbeaded pearl trim which flows into a chapel-length train. She wore above-the-elbow gloves and a fingertiplength double veil with cut edges. She carried a wrapped European hand-tied bouquet of vibrant summer flowers, including gerbera daisies, blue delphinium, pink and purple lizianthus, lilies and bovardia, with a focal point of red and pink roses.
Melissa Short and Katy Short, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Hoffman of Siloam Springs and Keri Bybee of Bartlesville, Okla.
The attendants wore cherry-blossom-red satin floorlength dresses, featuring fitted bodices with spaghetti straps; doubled-cord ties at the waist; A-line skirts; sheer overlays; and matching shoulder wraps. They carried all-white bouquets.
Shane Fox of Fredonia, Kan., served as best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Tomalak, cousin of the groom of Lawrenceville, Ga., Tim Bergquist of Bartlesville, Okla., and Greg White of Fayetteville. The groomsmen also served as ushers.
Music was provided by violinist Laura Gentry of Rogers, vocalist Shane Fox and pianist Susan Drummond.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Sterling House.
The guest-book attendant was Ellen Matkowski of Siloam Springs.
The bride holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s in art therapy from the University of Arkansas. She teaches English at Rogers High School.
The groom holds a bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He is employed as a software engineer for ABB in Bartlesville.
After a wedding trip to Pensacola, Fla., the couple will reside in Bartlesville.
