Beck-Hickman wed for Sunday, June 15, 2003
Ashley LeAnne Beck and John Michael Hickman, both of Springdale, were married at 6 p.m. Saturday May 24, 2003, at the Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista by Dennis Spence.
The bride is the daughter of Allen and Marsha Beck of Bentonville.
The groom is the son of Jerry and Jeanne Hickman of Rogers.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, Allen Beck, wore a formal gown of imported silk chiffon, featuring a hug-the-shoulder neckline with a modified empire waistline. The bodice was embellished with iridescent bugle beads. A flowing skirt of layered chiffon was split in the front and continued into a layered Chiffon Chapel length train. She wore a two-tier veil of fresh cut bridal illusion of fingertip length. She carried a large European hand tied cluster featuring white callalilies, white Virginia roses, sprinkled with stephanotis and lily of the valley, finished off with vibeman and a wide band of white double satin lined with pearl pins.
Kim Murphy, the bride’s sister, of Bentonville, served as matron of honor. Kristen Billingsley of Kirkwood, Mo., served as maid of honor. Junior bridesmaids were, Madison Murphy and Kennedy Murphy, both nieces of the bride and of Bentonville. They wore two-piece, white, crepe gowns. The narrow spaghetti straps and deep scoop neckline were beaded with clustered sequins and pearls. A drooped waistline fell over a formal-length sheath skirt. They carried hand-tied white Holland callalilies banded with a wide band of white double-faced satin lined with pearl pins.
Cole Hickman, nephew of the groom, of Rogers, served as Bible bearer. Blake Hickman, nephew of the groom, of Rogers, served as ringbearer.
Jason Hickman, the groom’s brothers, of Rogers, served as best man. Jake Arendt and Aaron Jackson, both of Rogers, and Justin Beck, brother of the bride, of Bentonville, served as groomsmen. Ushers were Clay Kendall and A. V. Mc-Carty, both of Rogers.
Wedding music was by harpist Angela Kwan Lu.
A reception was given in the bride’s parents home. Programs were given out by Marisa Sofner.
The bride is a graduate from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a transportation coordinator.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in logistics. He is employed as a logistics coordinator for Proctor and Gamble.
The couple honeymooned in Cancun and will reside in Springdale.
