James and Mary Ellen Brennan of 3995 Eldine Ave., York, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 4, 2000.
They were married at the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel by the Rev. Lawrence Schott, now deceased.
A family dinner, given by their children, was held Nov. 17 at Harrigan’s.
James is the son of the late Patrick Brennan and the late Hattie Sheffer.
He is retired from Prudential Insurance.
Mary Ellen is the daughter of Mary Walton of York and the late Oscar Walton.
They have three children: Cynthia Eschenbach of Kingsville, Md., and Roxanne Raab and Patrick, both of York.
They have three grandchildren.
