The Ludwigs
Richard and Viola Ludwig of Lancaster, Pa., and formerly of Hagerstown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Sept. 26, 1997, at Best Western Motel in Lancaster, Pa.
The celebration was hosted by their children, Karen Welk and Mark Ludwig of Lancaster, Pa., and Steve Ludwig of New Jersey. Another son, Robert Ludwig, died in 1973.
The Ludwigs were married Sept. 27, 1947, at Emmanuel United Brethren Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. Paul E. Holdcraft.
Mrs. Ludwig is the former Viola Eyler, daughter of Helen Eyler of Hagerstown and the late Reno Eyler.
She retired in 1975 from Sears Roebuck Co. in Lancaster.
Mr. Ludwig is the son of the late William and Grace Ludwig.
He is retired from Core State Bank in Williamsport, Pa.
They have four grandchildren.
