Mindt - Smart

Angela Kaye Mindt and Kenneth James Smart were united in marriage Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Bethel Church, Buckstop Junction, Bismarck.

Their marriage was an Irish marriage, featuring an Irish Claddagh. The Irish Claddagh symbolizes the reasons persons gather together on a wedding day.

The Claddagh features a splendid crown adorning a heart. Two hands cradle the heart, holding and protecting it.

The heart represents love, the crown loyalty and the hands, friendship.

The bride is the daughter or Robert and Lois Reetz and the groom is the son of Shirley Earle.

The bride’s great grandmother is Ida Mindt, Hebron.

Bridesmaids were McKenzie Smart, Rebecca Kern, Candy Owen and Tami DeMott Skager.

Groomsmen were Zachary Smart, Joshua Kern, James Jacobson and Andrew Groninger.

Personal attendant was Wanda Quam, flower attendant was MariJo DeMott, guest book attendant was Madisyn Skager and program attendants were Sara Crosby and Austin Skager.

Pastor Michael Place officiated at the ceremony. Readings were by Evrita Crosby.

Joshua Kern sang "The Wedding Song" (There is Love) and Nick Ehrhardt was guitarist.

A candle lit on the alter was in loving memory of the grandfathers who could not be with the couple on their special day – Adam Mindt, James McDermott and Stanley Reetz.

A reception and dance were held following the ceremony at the Bismarck Moose Lodge.
