Gurmen Schimke and Caroline DeMars were united in marriage during a 2 p.m. ceremony Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centerville, IA.
The Rev. Ronald L. Will, C.PP.S of St. Mary’s and Rev. Kathryn Franzeburg of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centerville officiated at the ceremony.
Maid of honor was Johanna Mihalek, Ashland, WI, sister of the bride.
Best man was Joseph DeMars, Oconomowoc, WI, son of the bride.
Gurmen is currently the instrumental music instructor at Shiloh Christian School in Bismarck, ND.
Caroline retired as Distribution Systems Manager at Wells Distribution, Centerville, IA.
The couple plans to winter in Centerville and spend their summers in Hebron, ND.
Caroline has three children, five grandsons and a granddaughter.
Gurmen has a daughter and two grandsons.
