St. John’s Lutheran Church, Richardton, was the setting for the wedding of Alicia Jean Messmer and Christopher John Duttenhefer.
Parents of the couple are Charles and Jeanne Messmer, Richardton, ND; Raynae and Lynole Heinle, Hebron, ND and Matthew Duttenhefer, Shokopee, MN.
The double ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Steve Tangen Saturday, June 28 at 4 p.m.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her parents and wore a white gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves, a split front drape skirt and a baque waistline.
The entire gown and cathedral length train were embellished with appliqué, pearls and lace.
She wore a crown tatted by her grandmother, which was embellished with pearls and a tulle veil.
A rhinestone necklace and earrings, a gift from the bride’s mother accented the entire ensemble.
She carried a bouquet of white roses, baby’s breath and asparagus fern intertwined with pearl stems, made by the bride’s mother.
Organist Julie Mangnall, aunt of the bride, played Cannon in D, Bridal Chorus and Wedding March.
The church was decorated with a unity candle and lilac colored pew bows.
Jessica Messmer, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor and wore a mock two-piece lilac matte satin dress with an A-line skirt.
The bodice featured a chiffon neckline and ruffled chiffon mini train.
Bridesmaids were Erin Bullinger, a friend of the bride, Mindi Ulmer, cousin of the groom, Julie Proudy, friend of the bride and April Foth, friend of the couple.
They wore identical dresses and carried long stemmed lilac roses with baby’s breath.
Junior bridesmaids were Megan Davidson, Lexus Davidson and Amanda Davidson, cousins of the bride and Briahna Lee, cousin of the groom.
They wore floor length dresses of the same color with rose and baby’s breath hair combs.
Jayme Clayton, friend of the bride, served as personal attendant.
Best man was a friend, Dale Berger. Groomsmen were Shawn Fiedler, cousin of the groom, Chad Gott, cousin of the groom, Wade Mutschelknaus, friend of the couple and Shane Gott, cousin of the groom.
The bride’s mother wore a periwinkle floor length, short sleeved dress trimmed with pearls and beads of the same color.
The groom’s mother wore a floor length dress with jacket of metallic knit, also in periwinkle.
The reception was held at the Travel Lodge Inn with 200 guests in attendance.
Host couples were Jack Zent and Yvonne Wagner, godparents of the bride and Audrey and John Cherney, aunt and uncle of the groom.
The cake was cut by Patti Feidler, aunt of the groom and Elaine Peterson, aunt of the bride.
Punch was served by Connie Rykowski, aunt of the groom and Dona Molet, aunt of the bride.
Following a trip to California, the couple will make their home in Bismarck where the bride is enrolled at the University of Mary, pursuing a degree in nursing and Christopher is enrolled at Bismarck State College, pursuing a degree in engineering.
