Sharolyn Liane Ding and Philip James McClurg, both of Roseville, MN were united in marriage July 22, 2000 during a 3:30 p.m. double ring ceremony at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis.
Rev. Mark Sundby officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara and George Ding of Hebron and the groom is the son of Bernadine and James McClurg, Vadnais Heights, MN.
Music for the ceremony was presented by Susan Dux and Rhonda and Dean Fuelberth, aunts and uncle of the bride.
The processional and recessional were played on the trumpet.
The aisles were decorated with ivy and satin bows and there were floral arrangements of roses, gloriosu lilies, and ivy and periwinkle hydrangea on the candelabras and in bouquets.
Her father, George Ding, gave the bride in marriage.
She wore a white Italian satin and sleeveless gown decorated with lace and pearl applique on the bodice and chapel length train.
She wore elbow length gloves.
Her veil was a crown of pearls with a train length veil.
She carried a bouquet of red and yellow roses, gloriosa lilies, periwinkle hydrangea and ivy.
Maid of honor was Jill Rehling of Bismarck. She wore a red chiffon, floor length sleeveless dress with a scoop back.
Bridesmaids were Christie Girard, Fargo, ND and Tanya Jackson, Omaha, NE.
They wore red chiffon dresses similar to the dress worn by the maid of honor.
Steve McClurg, brother of the groom of Minneapolis, MN, was best man.
Attendants were Bryon Ding, brother of the bride, Fort Worth, TX and Mark Schermerhorn, Vadnais Heights, MN.
Ushers were Sean Sawyer, Scott Carlson, Jordan Dux and Michael Dux.
Mrs. Ding, mother of the bride, wore a floor length silver satin gown featuring a silver lace top.
Mrs. McClurg, the groom’s mother, wore a three-quarter length periwinkle blue dress with beaded applique.
A wedding reception was held following the ceremony for 150 guests at The Holiday Inn Metradome.
Host and hostess were Bob and Kathy Henning of Lincoln, NE.
The bride received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from North Dakota State University and is employed as a registered nurse at United Hospital, St. Paul, MN.
The groom received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University in 1998 and is employed as a civil engineer at BRW, Inc., Minneapolis, MN.
Following a five day wedding trip to Las Vegas, NV, Mr. and Mrs. McClurg are now at home in Roseville, MN.
