The Arnspargers
Edward and Nora Arnsparger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at Williamsport American Legion in Williamsport.
The event was hosted by their daughter, Linda Brown, and her husband, Ned, and their son Edward Jr. and their granddaughter Becky Gause.
The couple were married Dec. 20, 1946, by the Rev. G.I. Rider at Grace Brethren Church in Hagerstown.
Mrs. Arnsparger is the former Nora Lee Sypolt.
She retired after 31 years of service with Grand Union supermarket.
Mr. Arnsparger retired after 32 years with the state of Maryland.

(Obituary of Nora Arnsparger: "NORA LEE (SYPOLT) ARNSPARGER, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Julia Manor Health Care Center. Born December 18, 1927 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James Albert, Sr. and Mary Ellen (Johnson) Sypolt. Nora was a 1945 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She retired after 31 1/2 years as a bookkeeper at the Grand Union Supermarket. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 50 years, joining in 1946, where she was involved in the ladies willing workers class. Nora was also a member of the BPO Elks #378; American Legion Post No. 211 and the Improved Order of Redmen of Williamsport. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Edward Rollie Arnsparger, Sr., who died November 12, 2000; and her brother, James Albert Sypolt, Jr. and his wife, Frances Irene Sypolt. Nora is survived by a daughter, Linda Lucretia Gause Brown of Hagerstown; a son, Edward Rollie Arnsparger, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lee Ellen Gause of Hagerstown; and her furry companion, Holly. A funeral service was held at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown; interment followed in Rest Haven Cemetery.")
(Obituary of Edward Arnsparger: "EDWARD ROLLIE ARNSPARGER SR., 77, of 105 Sunbrook Lane, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Washington County Hospital. Born June 18, 1923 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Oscar Durwood Sr. and Olive May Guessford Arnsparger. He was employed by the Maryland Correctional Institution, retiring in 1979. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served during World War II. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks 378; American Legion, Funkstown Post 211; Improved Order of Redmen 54; AMVETS Post 10; AARP and the M.C.E.A. He is survived by his wife, Nora L. Sypolt Arnsparger; a daughter, Linda Gause Brown of Hagerstown; a son, Edward R. Arnsparger Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Oscar D. Arnsparger Jr. of Williamsport; and a granddaughter. Services were held at Grace United Methodist Church; burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home.")
