The Shanks
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel J. Shank of Williamsport were honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner party Friday, April 4, 1997, at Potomac Fish and Game Club.
The Shanks were married March 27, 1947, by the Rev. G.I. Rider in Hagerstown.
The couple have two sons, Bobbie "Jake" and Ronnie, and a daughter, Daisy Green. They have four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Shank retired in 1984 after 21 years of service at Charlton Brothers.
He also is a veteran of World War II.
Mrs. Shank is the former Pearl Sharer and is a homemaker.

(Obituary of Daniel Shank: "Daniel Jacob Shank, 85, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late Daniel C. and Daisy Mae Manning Shank. He attended Winter Street School. He was a truck driver with Charlton Bros. of Hagerstown, until retiring in 1984, and previously was employed at Cushwa Brick in Williamsport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of New Life Christian Ministries in Hagerstown. He was a lifetime member of VFW of Mercersburg, Pa., The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 of Williamsport and Funkstown Rod & Gun Club. He also was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion of Williamsport and Teamsters Local 992 of Hagerstown. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Iva Sharer Shank, whom he married March 27, 1947, of Williamsport; daughter, Daisy P. Green and her husband, Michael L., of Falling Waters, W.Va.; sons, Bobbie “Jake” Shank and his wife, Debbra, of Pinesburg, Md., and Ronald L. Shank and his wife, Teresa, of Williamsport; sister, Vivian Dunhough of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel E. Shank; three sisters; and two brothers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Tuesday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Military graveside services will be provided by AMVETS Post 10 and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown. Born in Hagerstown, Maryland on August 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Charles and Pearl Baker Sharer. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Jacob Shank in 2013. She was a Homemaker. Pearl is survived by a daughter Daisy P. Green and husband Michael L. of Falling Waters, WV, 2 sons Bobbie “Jake” Shank and wife Debbra of Pinesburg, MD and Ronald L.
