The Branches
Pat and Clifford J. "Pete" Branch of Maugansville were honored with a surprise 50th wedding anniversary celebration Saturday, Nov. 9, 1996, at Gibbles Restaurant in Greencastle, Pa.
The celebration was hosted by their children and their spouses.
There were 39 relatives and friends attending the event.
Mrs. Branch is employed at Machen Music.
Mr. Branch is retired from Western Maryland Railroad.
The Branches have five children, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

(Obituary of Clifford Branch: "Clifford John Branch, 83, of Maugansville passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born Dec. 26, 1929, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Clifford W. and Maude R. (Eichelberger) Branch. He was employed as a car man for 25 years on the Western Maryland Railroad, and also worked as a house painter for many years. Clifford was a member of Paramount Brethren in Christ Church in Hagerstown, as well as the Old Timers Club of the Western Maryland Railroad. He was a previous member of the Hancock Sportsman Club. Clifford was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He held a record in five states after he shot a 17-point buck. He had a passion for music, and got great enjoyment singing for the Lord. His family was his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia (Jackson) Branch; five children, Linda L. Branch of Maugansville, Mary H. Huffman and husband, Fred, of Falling Waters, Steven Branch of Cearfoss, John K. Branch of Ohio, and Mike S. Branch and wife, Patsy, of Hagerstown; a sister, Beverly Jenkins of Hagerstown; two brothers, Don Branch and wife, Janie, of Big Pool, and Bill Branch of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and his cat, Boots. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant siblings, Doris and Paul Branch. A funeral service will be Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor James Stauffer officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
