The Rohrers
Samuel and Pauline Rohrer of Smithsburg were honored at a surprise 40th wedding anniversary at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville.
The event was hosted by their children, Michael Rohrer and Dale and Jeana (Rohrer) Wolf.
Many relatives and friends attended this occasion.
Donald Rohrer their best man was also in attendance.
The couple was married on March 9, 1957, by the late Rev. Homer Kendall at Bethel United Methodist Church of Chewsville.
Mrs. Rohrer is the former Pauline Stottlemyer and is a homemaker.
Mr. Rohrer is employed at Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown.
The couple have three grandchildren.

(Obituary of Samuel Rohrer: "Samuel Earl "Huck" Rohrer, 78, of Cavetown Church Road, Smithsburg, Maryland, passed away Thursday Oct. 16, 2014, at his home. Born May 3, 1936, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Max R. and Mary R. (Johnston) Rohrer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pauline M. "Polly" (Stottlemyer) Rohrer on Jan. 23, 2011. They were married March 9, 1957. He attended Boonsboro High School. He retired from Pangborn Corp. of Hagerstown after 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Wolfsville, Maryland. He is survived by daughter Jeana M. Rohrer Wolf and husband Dale L. of Wolfsville, son Michael T. Rohrer of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, sisters Dorothy Delauter and Hilda Shoop, both of Hagerstown, grandchildren Kristen M. (Wolf) Herr and husband Wendell of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Melissa K. (Wolf) Rollison and husband Sean of Ranson, West Virginia, and Joshua D. Wolf and fiancee Amy Main of Riviera Beach, Maryland, great-grandchildren Blake Rollison, Madison Rollison and Garrett Herr and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Max Jr., Walter and Donald Rohrer and sisters Pauline Price and Louella "Patsy" Ridenour. Services will be held Monday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wolfsville, with Pastor David Howell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Maryland. Born April 8, 1937, in Wolfsville, she was the daughter of the late Ivan C. and Virgie S. (Kline) Stottlemyer. She was a 1955 graduate of Middletown High School. She was employed by Double-Day Company of Smithsburg. She was a life member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Wolfsville and member of the Smithsburg Historical Society. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Samuel E. "Huck" Rohrer whom she married March 9, 1957; daughter, Jeana M. Rohrer Wolf and husband, Dale L., of Wolfsville; son, Michael T. Rohrer of Waynesboro, Pa.; sisters, Doris Lovell of Owings Mills and Alma Routzahn and husband, John of Frederick; grandchildren, Kristen M. Wolf of Wolfsville, Melissa K. Wolf Rollison of Ranson, W.Va., and Joshua D. Wolf of Hagerstown; great- grandchildren Blake Rollison and Madison Rollison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Stottlemyer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Wolfsville with Pastor David Howell officiating.
