The Smiths
Ralph and Mamie Smith of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at a luncheon at Richardson's Restaurant in Hagerstown.
The luncheon was hosted by their son Gregory Smith and their son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Shelby Smith.
The couple was married Jan. 10, 1947, by the Rev. Francis Bell, pastor of Smithsburg Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Smith retired after 21 years of service with Washington County Board of Education's lunch program.
Mr. Smith retired after 42 years of service with Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.
The couple have five grandchildren.
