The Silverses
Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Silvers of Williamsport were honored with a surprise 50th wedding anniversary celebration Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at Windy Hill Restaurant in Clear Spring.
The dinner was hosted by their children and their spouses, Rick and Sharron Silvers and Cheri and Darrell Hovermale.
Approximately 79 family members and friends were in attendance.
The Silverses were married Nov. 30, 1946, in Hagerstown by the Rev. Paul Holdcraft of Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Mrs. Silvers is the former P. Jane West of Hagerstown, daughter of the late Roy I. and Edna (Shank) West.
She is retired from M.P. Moller Co.
Mr. Silvers is the son of the late Richard and Catherine (Byers) Silvers.
He is retired from Fairchild Industries and Rohr Industries.
They have two granddaughters.
