The Pittmans
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd V. Pittman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996, at Family Time Restaurant in Maugansville.
The event was hosted by their daughter, Darlene K. Barr.
Approximately 50 family members and friends attended.
Lloyd and Dorothy Pittman were married Nov. 16, 1946, by the Rev. DeWitt Dickey of the Methodist Church in Hancock.
Mrs. Pittman is the former Dorothy E. Eaton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Velvet D. Eaton.
Mr. Pittman served on a B-29 bomber crew in the South Pacific during World War II.
He is retired from Mack Trucks Inc. in Hagerstown.
The Pittmans have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

(Obituary of Dorothy Pittman: "Dorothy Eloise Pittman, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at her home while holding her husband's hand, surrounded by her entire family. Born Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1925, in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Velvet Dwight Eaton and the late Bertha Ellen (Farris) Eaton. Dorothy was a former employee of Fairchild Aircraft and Corning Glass. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 3, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lloyd Vernon Pittman; daughter, Darlene Kay Barr and husband, William, of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Tammy Sue Kline and husband, Wayne, Pamela JoAnne Kline and husband, Tom, Jennifer Lynn Shives and husband, Brad, Jason Michael Barr and wife, Heather, DeAnn Kay Morrison and husband, Jim, and Justin Matthew Barr and wife, Alicia; 17 great-grandchildren, Wayne, Olivia and Isabelle Kline, Nathan and Aaron Kline, Brooke, Bryant, Braden and Emmalee Shives, Curtis and Chase Barr, Will, Jacob, Kyle and Samuel Morrison and Macy and Lexie Barr. She is also survived by her niece, Patricia Everitt; and nephew, Joseph Eaton. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Atley Dwight Eaton and John Russell Eaton. Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice, especially her nurses, Rikki and Jessica, and Chaplain Jeff, for the care they provided.
