The Steiners
Julia and Aaron Steiner of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at the Ramada Inn in Hagerstown.
The event was hosted by their five sons, Dennis Steiner of Frederick, Md., Tim Steiner, Rod Steiner and Mike Steiner, all of Hagerstown, and Pat Steiner of Floyd's Knob, Ind.
Attending were 28 immediate family and friends.
The Steiners were married Dec. 24, 1946, in Hancock, by the Rev. E.D. Spencer.
Mrs. Steiner is the former Julia Hendershot of Buck Valley, Pa.
She has been employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, and Washington County Association for Retarded Citizens.
Mr. Steiner has been employed by Pennsylvania Glass Sand, Supreme Block, Hagerstown Block, and Pangborn Corp.
The couple lives in Hagerstown and has nine grandchildren.

(Obituary of Julia Steiner: "JULIA RUTH STEINER, 88, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at NMS Nursing Home. Born March 8, 1927, in Buck Valley, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jackson and Dora Means Hendershot. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Glen Steiner on June 4, 1998. She was previously employed with the Washington County ARC as a bus driver. She was a member of the Beaver Creek Lions Club and past president the Ladies auxiliary Pony League of Hagerstown. She is survived by five sons, Denny Steiner and wife, Barbara of Frederick, MD; Tim Steiner, and wife, Sharon; Rod Steiner, and wife, Diane; Michael Steiner; and Patrick Steiner and wife, Dora all of Hagerstown, MD; ten grandchildren, Matthew Steiner, Marc Steiner, Tiffany Stottlemyer, Lindsay Steiner, Holly Duffey, Scott Steiner, Devon Steiner, Emily Steiner, Niklas Steiner and Vincent Steiner and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Hendershot and Donald Hendershot. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor J. Mark Curran will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery. There will be no viewing. (Obituary of Aaron Steiner: "Aaron G. Steiner, 79, Hagerstown, MD, died Thursday, June 4, 1998 at his home. Born January 5, 1919, in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Russell and Dora Burton Steiner. He was employed as an engineer for Pangborn Corp., retiring in 1986. He also had worked for Hagerstown Block Co., Supreme Block Co. and Pennsylvania Sand Glass. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and received an honorable discharge as a staff sergeant. He was involved in the Funkstown Lions Club and the Washington County Republican Central Committee. He was past president of the Hancock Lions Club and Hancock PTA and past governor of Lions International. In 1990, the Lions Club International awarded him a Melvin Jones Fellowship for dedicated service. He was the designer and chief architect of the Valley Little League complex, which was dedicated to him in 1997. He was inducted into the Washington County Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. He also was instrumental in creating the Smithsburg Little Sluggers League and was president of Hagerstown Pony League in 1965-66. He is survived by his wife, Julia Hendershot Steiner, whom he married December 24, 1946; six sons, Terry Steiner, Tim Steiner, Rod Steiner and Mike Steiner, all of Hagerstown, Dennis Steiner, Frederick, MD and Pat Steiner, Floyds Knob, IN; two brothers, Jack Steiner, Berkeley Springs, WV and Lester Steiner, Surfside Beach, SC; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Ruppenthal; and an infant son, Gregory Lynn Steiner. Services were held Monday, June 8, at 11 a.m. at Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Ave., Hagerstown. Burial with military honors was at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Hagerstown. Arrangements were by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
