The Duffeys
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Duffey Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, at AMVETS Post 10 in Hagerstown.
The dinner was given by their son, Jack Duffey, and his wife, Sandy.
Many friends and family members attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Duffey were married Dec. 7, 1946, in Hagerstown, and have lived in Hagerstown since their marriage.
Mrs. Duffey is the former Flora Derr, the daughter of the late Worthy and Flora Derr.
Mr. Duffey is retired from Pangborn after 44 years of service.
The couple has two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

(Obituary of Flora Duffey: "FLORA A. (PEGGY) DUFFEY, 77, formerly of 18006 Par Three Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the home of her son. Born May 7, 1928 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Worthy Wilbur and Flora Grace Kelbaugh Derr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Duffey, Sr. on April 12, 2002. She was a member of the Christ Reformed Church. She was a member of the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211 Auxiliary, and the A.A.R.P. She is survived by one son, Arthur C. (Jack) Duffey, Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Catherine M. Rinehart, and Ruby L. Reed, both of Hagerstown; two grandsons and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Grace Boward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Don Stevenson, and Rev. Rebecca Hoover will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
