Mr. and Mrs. Rodney L. Tucker of Hagerstown were honored with a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 1, 1996.
Approximately 32 family members and friends attended the morning worship service at Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
An open house was hosted by their sons, Barry and Terry, and their families.
Approximately 62 relatives and friends from Maryland, Pennsylvania and South Carolina attended.
Mrs. Tucker is the former Delilah "Susie" Blickenstaff of Hagerstown, daughter of the late L. Foster and Lutie Blickenstaff.
Mr. Tucker is the son of the late Rodney R. and Maude L. Carpenter Tucker.
Mrs. Tucker is retired from Routzahn's Department Store.
Mr. Tucker served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is retired from the State of Maryland.
The couple was married Aug. 31, 1946, by the Rev. G. I. Rider of Grace Evangelic United Brethren Church in Hagerstown.
They have two sons, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

(Obituary of Delilah Tucker: "Delilah Ruth "Susie" Tucker, 72, of 1423 W. Church St., Hagerstown, died Monday, June 12, 2000, at Washington County Hospital. Born March 8, 1928, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late L. Foster and Lutie Belle Eckstine Blickenstaff. She was a 1946 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She retired from Routzhan's Department Store after 25 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Willing Workers Sunday School class. She was a member of Ladies of the Elks. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rodney Lee Tucker; two sons, Barry L. Tucker of Hagerstown and Terry Ray Tucker of Clear Spring; a brother, Lee F. Blickenstaff of Ocala. Fla.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Blickenstaff. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
