Mr. and Mrs. William Gordon McLucas were surprised with a 50th wedding anniversary celebration at Wacohu Grange at Huyetts Crossroads, Friday, Sept. 6, 1996.
The affair was hosted by their daughters and their husbands, Larry and Linda Dorrier, Jeff and Mary Timmons and their grandchildren.
The couple was married Sept. 11, 1946, at Hagerstown Bible Church, formerly First Church of God, by the late Rev. H.C. Gonso.
Mrs. McLucas is the former Rosie Rhines of Waynesboro, Pa., and is retired from Ross Garment.
Mr. McLucas served in World War II with the U.S. Army in Europe and is retired from Statton Furniture Manufacturing Co.

(Obituary of William McLucas: "William Gordon McLucas, 90, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at NMS Healthcare, Hagerstown, MD. He was born on January 26, 1925 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Samuel Luther and Amy Viola Moser McLucas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Helen Rhines McLucas on October 3, 2012. They were married on September 11, 1946. He was employed by Statton Furniture, Hagerstown, MD retiring in 1989. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, Battle of the Bulge, in the European Theater and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was of the Brethren Faith. He was a member of Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion, Hagerstown, MD, AARP and Cabinet Workers Union of Hagerstown, MD. He was a dedicated Husband, Father, and Grandfather of his daughters, Linda D. Dorrier and her husband Larry of Hagerstown, MD and Mary L. Timmons of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren, Jason Dorrier and his wife Heather of Greencastle, PA, Amanda Timmons Gossert and her husband Shane of Falling Waters, WV, and Jared Timmons and his wife Winnie of Charleston, SC; and great-grandson Harrison Dorrier. He was predeceased by his sisters, Della M. Souders, Mildred R. Horn, Ethel V. Whittington, M. Edith Dick and Helen C. Hornbaker; and brothers, Ralph R. McLucas, Paul R. McLucas, Earl McLucas and Robert McLucas. The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. on Sunday for the convenience of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Randy Reid officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, MD. Military graveside services will be provided by Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion, Hagerstown, MD.
