Becker
Eugene and Marion Becker of Leitersburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner Saturday, July 27, 1996, at Hickory Bridge Farm in Orrtanna, Pa.
The event was hosted by their son, David, and his wife, Marcie, of Hagerstown, and son, Gayle of Mercersburg, Pa.
The couple was married July 24, 1936, in a double ceremony with Ken and Evora (Maust) Hostetler in Oakland, Md.
Mr. Becker and Mr. Hostetler were partners in an upholstering and furniture refinishing business in Berlin, Pa.
Mr. Becker, 82, retired in 1978 from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown after 36 years of service.
Mrs. Becker, 80, the former Marion Burkhart of Berlin, is a homemaker.
The Beckers have two granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.

(Obituary of Eugene Becker: "Eugene Warren Becker, 92, a resident of Fahrney-Keedy Home in Boonsboro, Md., and formerly of Ringgold Pike in Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown. Born Sept. 17, 1913, in Brothersvalley Township, Somerset County, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Lillian B. (Martin) Becker. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Marion Lucille Becker, in 1999. He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown for 36 years, retiring in 1978. He moved to Hagerstown during World War II following employment at an aircraft factory in Baltimore, Md. In his earlier years, he was co-owner of a small upholsters business called Becker and Hostetler in Meyersdale, Pa. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leitersburg, Md. He was the last surviving immediate member of his family, a sister, Ruth H. Walker of Somerset, Pa., died in December 2005. He also was preceded in death by two other sisters, Gaza B. Rusk of Philadelphia, Pa., and Myrtle Becker, who passed away during childhood; and two brothers, Alvin Becker of Jacksonville, Fla., and E. Earl Becker of Meyersdale.")
