The Hamiltons
William C. and Sheridan Schoen Hamilton were honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance at Fountain Head Country Club Saturday, Aug. 17, 1996.
The reception was hosted by their three sons and their spouses, Richard J. and Nancy Carpenter Hamilton, Derek H. and Kim Demmitt Hamilton of Hagerstown and Teague O. and Mary Lou Hamilton of Culpeper, Va.
The Hamiltons were married at St. John's Episcopal Church Aug. 17, 1946 by the Rt. Rev. Walter Byron Stehl.
Mr. Hamilton founded Hamilton Pontiac Cadillac Nissan in 1961 and is retired as chairman of the board.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Army in Alabama.
Mrs. Hamilton is retired as corporate secretary of Hamilton Pontiac Cadillac.
She is a homemaker.
The Hamiltons have five grandsons and one granddaughter.
