The Carters
John and Kathleen Carter of Hagerstown were honored with a celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 31, 1996, at Knight's of Columbus hall in Leitersburg.
The couple renewed their wedding vows in the presence of Major Sam Van Denberg of the Salvation Army Chapel.
The reception was hosted by the couple's three children and their spouses,k Karen and Clark Martz, Tina Marie Carter and Sherry and Art Rowland, all of Hagerstown.
The couple's daughter, Sandy Alton of Hagerstown was unable to attend.
The couple has four grandchildren.
Mrs. Carter, the former Kathleen J. Porter of New Jersey is employed by Salvation Army of Hagerstown.
Mr. Carter is employed with Kane Logistics of Hagerstown.
The couple was married Aug. 21, 1971 by Major Kenneth Merrifield of Washington, D.C.
