The Proctors
James and Dorris Proctor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, July 12, 1996, at a surprise evening banquet in the Cumberland Room at Howard Johnson Plaza-Hotel in Hagerstown.
Mr. Proctor, originally from Weverton, served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.
He worked at Fairchild and then for Department of the Army at Fort Ritchie as an engineering technician until his retirement in 1986.
Mrs. Proctor, originally from Brunswick, Md., is a homemaker.
The Proctors were married July 21, 1946, at First Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
The couple lived in Brunswick before moving to Hagerstown in 1956.
The couple has two children, Holly Hunt of Hagerstown, and Karen Williamson of Groton, Conn.
They have five grandchildren.

Born Thursday, June 30, 1927, in Knoxville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Estley Leo Webber and Emma Lovetta Cooper Webber. She attended Brunswick High School. She was a member of New Beginnings Community Church, Elks Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 211 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved the outdoors, gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James E. Proctor; daughters, Holly Tosadori and husband, Anthony, of Smithsburg, Md., and Karen Williamson and husband, Terry, of Hagerstown; sister, Adelaide Bower; brother, Curtis Webber; grandchildren, Jay Hunt, Evan Hunt, Sean Hunt, Amanda Williamson and Forrest Williamson; three great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey Snoots; and brother, Irvin Cooper. Services will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown, with Pastor Mark Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 24, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Born Monday, Oct. 29, 1923, in Weaverton, Md., he was the son of the late Ralph Alexander Proctor and the late Elizabeth (Barger) Proctor. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Dorris E. Proctor, on April 20, 2012. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1941 and later served in the U.S. Navy during World War II onboard a sub chaser. He was formerly employed at Fairchild Aircraft, and later retired in 1986 from the Department of the Army at Fort Ritchie. He was a member of New Beginnings Community Church, Eagles Club, BPO Elks Lodge 378 and Dixon Troxell American Legion Post 211, Funkstown, Md. He was a devoted family man who loved baseball and music. He is survived by two daughters, Holly Tosadori and husband, Anthony, of Smithsburg, Md., and Karen Williamson and husband, Terry, of Hagerstown; four grandsons, Jay Hunt, Evan Hunt, Sean Hunt and Forrest Williamson; granddaughter, Amanda Williamson; two great-granddaughters, Catrina Hunt and Emma Hunt; and two great-grandsons, Gavin Hunt and Brayden Hunt.
