The Browns
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a surprise party at Eagles Club ballroom in Hagerstown, Sunday, March 10, 1996.
The event was hosted by their son, Randy Brown, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
This was a double celebration with Mrs. Brown's brother and sister-in-law, David and Mary Carroll, who were married March 7, 1946.
There were approximately 100 relatives and friends in attendance from the Tri-State area.
The Browns were married at Grace United Brethren Church in Hagerstown, by the Rev. G.I. Rider on March 16, 1946.
Mrs. Brown, a homemaker, is the former Margaret Carroll.
Mr. Brown retired from the U.S. Navy in 1961 after 20 years of service and from Washington County Board of Education in 1982.
The couple has two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
