McCreery's to observe 60th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ross McCreery will observe their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner in their honor Sunday at their home in Fairfield Township.
Mr. and Mrs. McCreery were married Jan. 17, 1912 at the home of the bride's parents in Lockport.
Mrs. McCreery was born Jan. 7, 1886 in Lockport, daughter of the late Millard and Clara (Harris) Shomo.
Her husband was born July 20, 1884, in Fairfield Township, son of the late Robert and Abigail (McMillen) McCreery.
The celebrants are the parents of five children, two of whom are living.
They are Mrs. Clara Mae Galbraith of RD I New Florence and Thomas of RD 1 Bolivar. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. McCreery was a farmer in Fairfield Township for over 50 years.
Prior to taking over the family farm he worked four years in the Pennsylvania Railroad car shops at Pitcairn.
Mrs. McCreery is a member and past president of the auxiliary to Hood-Vanatt Post 307, New Florence American Legion and a member of Laurel Ridge Grange 2038.
Both are members of the Bolivar United Presbyterian Church.
