Wolfs to celebrate 50th
Marlen (Bill) and Gretchen Wolf of Fremont will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Dec. 7, 2 - 4 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 16th and Luther Rd., in Fremont.
The event will be hosted by their children, Mary J. Smith of Cartersville, Ga.; and Mark and Karen Wolf of Highlands Ranch. Colo.
The couple has three grandchildren.
Marlen Wolf and Gretchen Stork were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington on Dec. 7, 1947.
The couple the presence and family as their only gifts.

(Obituary of Gretchen Wolf: "Gretchen C. Wolf, 79, of Fremont died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Fremont Area Medical Center. She was born Feb. 16, 1926, on a farm near Arlington to Martin and Helena (Laaker) Stork. She married Marlen "Bill" Wolf on Dec. 7, 1947, in Arlington. She was employed for 28 years as the church secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. She also devoted many volunteer years with Lutheran Family Services and spent many years in the church quilting group. Survivors include: her husband; a daughter, Mary J. (Mrs. Tom) Krupich of Cartersville, Ga.; a son, Mark A. (and wife, Karen) Wolf of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a brother, Floyd (and wife, Phyllis) Stork of Upland, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Violet Stork of Fremont; and two brothers-in-law, Delmer (and wife, Eleanor) Wolf of Arlington and Dennis Wolf of Omaha; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren and a step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran church in Fremont with the Rev. Phillip Vance officiating. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, north of Arlington. Memorials have been established to Lutheran Family Services and the Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund.")
Obituary of Marlen Wolf: "Marlen D. “Bill” Wolf, 86, of Fremont died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln. Bill was born Sept. 30, 192, at Arlington to William and Lydia (Hilgenkamp) Wolf. He was baptized Oct. 10, 1926, and confirmed May 12, 1940, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (north of Arlington). He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and the Brinkman School. Bill served in the United States Army during the years of 1945 to 1947. On Dec. 7, 1947, he married Gretchen Stork in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They made their home in Fremont and Bill was employed by Hormel Foods Corp. for 34 years, beginning in 1950 and retiring in 1984. In his retirement years, he worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and for several years he was an associate with Ludvigsen Mortuary. Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, where over the years he had served on many of the church committees, including the building committee. Survivors include: a daughter, Mary (and husband, Tim) Krupich of Cartersville, Ga.; a son, Mark (and wife Karen) Wolf of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; four grandchildren, Courtney and Cole Smith and Justin and Jacob Wolf; three step grandchildren, Brandi, Travis and Brittany Krupich; two step great-grandchildren, Noah and Liam Krupich; two brothers, Delmer (and wife, Eleanor) Wolf of Arlington and Dennis Wolf of Bennington; brother-in-law, Floyd (and wife, Phyllis) Stork of Upland, Calif.; and dear friend, Violet Stork of Fremont. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen, on July 3, 2005. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Dan Heuer and Rev.
